Youth Health Protocol, The Future of Egypt

As part of the ongoing efforts of The United Bank to support Egyptian health, and to contribute building an ambition generation, who are healthy, and able to work on building our country at this important stage, The United Bank, Tahya Misr Fund, and Sohag University signed a joint cooperation protocol to eliminate Virus “C” in Egypt, allocated to the benefit of Sohag University’s students.

The protocol was signed by Mr. Ashraf El-Kady, Chairman of The United Bank, Mr. Mohamed Ashmawy, Executive Director of Tahya Misr Fund, and Dr. Ahmed Aziz Abdel Moneim, President of Sohag University, as part of the initiative of the President of the Republic to support the State's comprehensive development strategy, 2030 to eliminate the virus "C" permanently.

Participated in the signing of the Protocol Ms. Nevine Kashmiry, Deputy Managing Director of the Business Sector, the medical team of The United Bank, under the supervision of Dr. Abdel Moneim Badawi, Director of the Medical Department, Ethar Sector for Community Development, under the supervision of Professor Jehan Abu Hussein, Professor Manal Shaheen, Director General of Strategic Projects Tahya Misr Fund, a number of The United Bank’s team work, the team work of Tahya Misr Fund, and the staff of Sohag University.

Youth Health Protocol... The Future of Egypt:

Under this protocol, a specialized medical examination will be carried out for virus C, among all Sohag University’s 43,000 students in their various faculties. And provide therapeutic doses for students who are infected free of charge.

Dr. Ahmed Aziz Abdel Moneim, President of Sohag University, said that he was pleased to sign this protocol, which comes within the initiative of The United Bank and the Fund of Tahya Misr to support the students of Sohag University through conducting a comprehensive survey of all students and providing treatment for those injured free of charge.

Ashraf El-Kady, Chairman of The United Bankو said that the strategy of The United Bank for Community Development is based on supporting the education systemو and public health of Egyptians, especially in the field of treating viruses that affect the health of Egyptiansو and constitute a strong challenge to the great ambition of building the future of the countryو especially in Upper Egypt.

He added that the selection of Sohag University, one of the most prestigious universities in Egypt, to start the comprehensive surveyو and treatment of students came from a deep belief in the importance of developing Upper Egypt sector.

Ashraf El-Kady said that this protocol comes as a translator for cooperation of civil society institutions with various state agencies, and Tahya Misr Fund to serve the Egyptian youth, which constitutes about 60% of the segments of Egyptian society. 

2017 United Bank - announces the first Egyptian financial institution free from virus "C":

This protocol is the second cooperation between The United Bank and Tahya Misr Fund, which announced The United Bank as the first Egyptian financial institution free from virus "C" in the middle of 2017. This is part of the cooperation agreement with Tahya Misr Fund, and to be signed at the end of the year 2016.

Planning and Investment for Youth Capacity is the portal for Local Industries for Export:

Ashraf El-Kady said that good planning, and mechanisms for investing in human resources, and directing them properly to serve the pillars of sustainable development of the state is imperative. Therefore, The United Bank directed all 53 branches, especially the branch of Sohag, and the provinces of the Golden Triangle, and provided a specialized package of small, medium and micro enterprises that take into account the advantage of this province. The bank provides the necessary banking, and financing solutions for these projects. It also offers a range of technical advice for startups.

Sohag is a live model for The United Bank and its carefully studied banking solutions. Where the province of Sohag is famous for sugar cane cultivation. From this, The United Bank provides the necessary funding for the industries based on the sugar cane crop to serve youth, including animal feed, manure, and papermaking. The United Bank aims to encourage local industries, and qualify them for export.

Achievements of the Fund Tahia Misr to eliminate the virus "C":

Mohamed Ashmawy, executive director of Tahya Misr Fund, said the scale of the achievement was worthy of international praise. The Egyptian experience in eliminating one of the endemic viruses which is virus C, that threatens the lives of Egyptians, was not an easy achievement, but required the integration of state agencies, and civil society institutions for this task. 

When Mr. President gave the signal to start by assigning Tahya Misr Fund, the Ministry of Health and Population, and all civil society institutions to treat the first million infected with the virus, the mission was achieved. 

At the end of the year, coordination was held with the National Hepatitis Committee at the Ministry of Health and Population, to eliminate waiting lists in the governorates of the Republic in more than 42 centers. The therapeutic doses were administered to more than 157,000 patients in the governorates of Egypt, according to the comprehensive survey carried out there. More than 29,000 patients were treated in civil society initiatives in Menoufia, Alexandria, Minya, Aswan, and Sharkia governorates.

Mohamed Ashmawy said, that this achievement culminated in the establishment of the center of Tahya Misr to fight virus "C" in Luxor, the capital of Upper Egypt to be a specialized center in the treatment of this virus, and serve Egyptians in neighboring provinces. 

Tahya Misr Fund, and the foundations of community development:

Mohamed Ashmawy said that the foundations of community development, are based on the idea of sustainability in providing employment opportunities, and services to all members of society to improve their standard of living, health, and education. This is what Tahya Misr Fund is doing through sustainable community development plans, especially in slums, and marginalized areas.

Mohammed Ashmawy said the fund was working on a time-bound, and specific implementation plans in key areas that directly affect the lives of Egyptians.
