The UB at The World Youth Forum

In order to enhance the role of youth in enriching the dialogue, cultural, and civilizational interaction between the different peoples of the world, and to activate their strong role in dealing with some international issues, The United Bank sent an official delegation of 10 employees, young men and women, representing the new generation of the bank's in various sectors to participate in the activities of The World Youth Forum Sharm El Sheikh from 4-10 November 2017.

Competition to choose the official delegation of the youth of the bank

The idea of selecting the delegation to represent the bank, says Germien Amer, Head of Corporate Communications at The United Bank, started from Chairman Ashraf El-Kady, due to his great belief in the importance of youth to lead Egypt's future. Adding that the forum was an excellent channel to emphasize on global tourism, culture, civilization, as well as leadership in Egypt.

Pointing out that more than 65 young men and women, representing all sectors of the bank and its branches, spread throughout the country, asked to be enrolled in the internal competition. A committee was formed, to select the best people based on several factors, the most important of which are: age, general culture, general knowledge, the bility to express and discuss, introduce ideas and solutions related to one of the main themes of the forum.

10 of the United Bank's employees were selected to participate in the activities of the World Youth Forum 2017. Their participation was constructive in a range of global issues. Where they put their ideas freely, and transparently. It is an opportunity for all delegates from different parts of the world to experience peace-loving, as well as the integration of civilizations, and cultures in Egypt.

A global model for organizing conferences

On the organizational side of the forum, Germien Amer pointed out that the forum was a great opportunity, to prove to the world the ability of the Egyptian youth to prepare, organize, and volunteer in hard work efficiently.

The Forum represents a civilized message, which was launched from the land of Egypt to the whole world, especially for youth; which is the necessity of human, and cultural communications as well as cooperation to develop solutions, and remedy the problems suffered by a number of peoples in the world.

Views of the Bank's youth delegation in the forum

Reham Sherif, Credit Risk sector, and one of the participants in the delegation of The United Bank, pointed out that one of the most important topics discussed at the youth forum, was how to create future leaders, and their training methods for leadership, and work to harness their potential for development, and community building.

Islam El Azazi - Director of Customer Service Branch Sohag, one of the participants in the delegation of The United Bank said that the most important issues of the forum from my point of view was the role of arts and literature on many issues and urgent touches on people in various parts of the world, including terrorism and extremism.

Ahmed Hendi, Assistant Director of the IT sector and one of the participants in the delegation of the bank, said that the forum dealt with four main themes, the most important issues related to the impact of information technology on the current and future youth situation, as well as the importance of technology in entrepreneurship through international youth experiences.

Nairine Medhat- Legal Department and one of the participants at The United Bank's youth delegation said that sustainable development and humanitarian issues are important topics, especially as the forum reviewed the visions of youth and a number of international experiences to achieve sustainable development.
