On the margin lines of the annual Holy Quran Competition

The United Bank President alongside with South Sinai Governor honor the winners of the governorate

Cairo: 3rd of December 2023

On the sidelines of the annual United Bank Holy Quran competition, which takes place in 20 governorates of the Egyptian Republic. Both Major General Khaled Foda- South Sinai governor and Ashraf El Kady- Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, the United Bank witnessed the annual award ceremony that is held under the auspices of South Sinai Governorate- Sharm El Sheikh City.

Both Major General Khaled Foda and Ashraf El Kady hand out the prizes to the winners. As well as, they distributed Recognition Certificate and trophies for Al Azhar , The ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs Shiekh’ and reciters’.

Representatives from Al Azhar Al Sharif, alongside with representatives from The Ministry of Endowments, Manager of The Youth and Sports Unit, Manager of the Social Solidarity Unit participated in the annual ceremony held in the Conference Hall in Youth City Sharm El Sheikh. In addition to Gehane Abou Hussein- Head of Corporate Social Responsibility and The Chairman of the Committee of the Holy Quran Competition, the United Bank along with UB work team and competition winners and their parents.

Major Foda congratulated all Quran competition winners praising their parents efforts in his speech. He also appreciation UB team for their huge support and their organization to this annual competition in South Sinai Governorate.

He advised Holy Quran reciters to keep going in the Holy Quran reciting and to crown this with their deeds, following the steps of the Holy Messenger.

Foda stated that the religious identity of Egypt is mediocracy and the school of Al Azhar in the Islam instructions and rejecting extremism in any kind. As well as, spreading the right concepts that are suitable to our age.

Ashraf El Kady expressed his pleasure with these distinctive winners constellation. He added that UB put an integrated strategy to deepen the developmental community work especially in the education and health in different Egyptian governorates.

He assured that UB is devoted to hold and organize the competition in 20 governorates as one of the important events to spread the moderate religion, and build a modern, educated and armed with science generation of youth. Moreover, committed to their religion and provisions.

Regarding the state’s concerted efforts in renewing the religious talk, El Kady stated that is based on two issues. The first is the divine text represented in the Holy Quran. The second is the right understanding to the rules and provisions. That is where we should harmoniously renew the demonstration style and educating mechanisms, keeping pace with the requirements of the modern age suitable for all age segments.

It is worth mentioning that UB Holy Quran annual Competition have been held in many cities in South Sinai. As well as, Bedouin communities in El Tour, Ras Sedr, Abou Zenema, Abou Rdees,Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nwibaa, Taba and other communities in Saint Catherine: Hasswa, Goffa, Tarfa, Sepaia. A number of 1500 competed this year, and the winners were 380, with 5 people with disabilities.
