In the framework of achieving the presidential initiative “Hayaa Karima” Decent Life

Cairo: 5th of March 2024

Mohamed Abdel Kader Khairy- Vice Governor of Luxor, Farag Abdel Hamid- Vice Managing Director of The United Bank, Mohamed Hussein Baghdady- Undersecretary of Ministry of Social Solidarity, inaugurated this morning the rebuilt works for Nagaa El Gosour and Nagaa Saydena villages. The rebuilt works accomplished by “Good Makers” institution Sonaa El Kheir” for development and member of national alliance for non- governmental developmental work. That was in the framework of Mr. President Abdel Fattah ElSisi directions towards providing the needed support and development for the neediest villages as per the presidential initiative Decent Life.

The inauguration was attended by Mostafa Zamzam- Chairman of Board of trustees of Sonaa El Kheir for development and member of the national alliance for developmental non- governmental work, and the ambassador of the presidential initiative “Decent Life”. Together with Ethar work team for corporate social responsibility in UB headed by Gehane Abou Hussein and Corporate Communications work team headed by Germien Amer.

The Rebuilt and Development works accomplishments:

·       Rebuilding 24 dilapidated houses in the two villages, carrying out all interior and exterior finishing works, and all required preparations for the families to stay decently in their houses.

·       Delivering 25 fishing boats in the framework of economic empowerment and creating untraditional job opportunities coping with the life style of the targeted families.

·       A range of intensive training for the families of fishing.

·       Constructing a desalination potable water for the people of Naga Sayedna, after a range of analysis to examine the validity of the water.

·       A package of integrated high quality medical services for school through “Our Children in Our Eyes” convoy. Aiming to examine the unable and treat them freely. In addition to, conducting all medical interventions for the students of Naga El Gosour primary school.

·       Distributing humanitarian aid in the form of food cardboards to the neediest families.

·       Accomplishing developmental works for all mosques in the two villages “Naga El Gosour” and “Naga Sayedna”.

·        Organizing the Holy Quran competition to encourage the children to recite Holy Quran.

In the opening speech, Mohamed Abdel Kader Khairy- Vice Governor of Luxor thanked UB, Sonaa El Khair the member for their concerted efforts in rebuilding and developing the two villages in the framework of the presidential initiative Decent Life.

Farag Abdel Hamid- Vice Managing Director, pointed out that UB works within the ambitious agenda executed by Ethar Division for Corporate Social Responsibility. This agenda comes out from the effective participation in developing the Egyptian countryside through a thoroughly studied steps characterized by being simple, sustainable, and integrated, and comes out from real measurement for the people needs, in order to make a potential change in their lives.

He mentioned that developmental works in Naga Sayedna and Naga El Gosour comes as a culmination for UB activities in sustainable CSR in all what is presented through making a real positive change in the targeted families lives. Beginning from a suitable accommodation, passing through creating untraditional job opportunities coping the surrounding economic activity and available natural resources, until enjoying healthy life as per the Egyptian state vision 2030.

Commenting on UB sponsorship for the rebuilt and development works in the two villages, Ashraf El Kady- Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of UB, stated that the banking sector led by CBE is exerting tremendous efforts to develop societies in a big number of governorates as per the presidential initiative Decent Life. As well as, creating new job opportunities to improve the economic living conditions and finding the families suitable income resource. Additionally, providing support and aid for poor and marginalized families in education and health.

He added that the social responsibility is regarded as a strategic pillar of UB aiming to meet the purposes of sustainable development as per the United Nations 2017 goals.

From his side, Hany Abdel Fattah, the Executive President of Sonaa El Khair and member of the National Alliance for non- governmental developmental work, stated that the rebuilt work accomplished in Naga El Gosour and Naga Sayedna comes as per Mr. President Abdel Fattah ElSisi directions.

These directions regarding the importance of cooperation among all executive, non- governmental, and private concerned entities, through CSR, aiming to accomplish a package of developmental interventions. In order to support social empowerment and levelling up the educational system in these villages and keep the children there safe and healthy through conducting all required medical interventions. Starting from examining, early diagnosis for diseases that could negatively affect the children health, their academic achievements, providing them medications, surgeries, and delivering glasses.

From her side, Gehane Abou Hussein- Corporate Social Responsibility Eythar Head, The United Bank, stated that the development and rebuilt works accomplished in Nag El Gosour and Naga Sayedna villages, are considered the third. That has been a promising fruitful journey, starting from providing appropriate accommodation for the neediest families. As well as, dedication to the education system through supporting the Naga El Gosour primary school students, through conducting integrated medical interventions to overcome diseases that affect badly the health of children and their academic achievements. Additionally, providing untraditional job opportunities through distributing fishing boats, and the process of qualifying and training human resources to improve the life style of the citizen.
