UB Laky forum is to visit the Largest floating book fair “Logos Hope” on Port Saied promoting tourism, spread knowledge and hope

Cairo: 23rd of January, 2023

UB Laky forum has organized a visit to the largest floating book fair “Logos Hope” last Saturday. The boat moored in Port Saied for 19 days from 4th till 23rd of January 2023. After a range of rounds in 140 port in 80 countries, that included many Arab countries, like: Lebanon and Lybia.

The ship includes around 500,000 on board. It offers around 5000 titles of different kinds of literature, science and mathematics. It also includes a special partition for kids’ literature, global stories, self-development and cooking. In addition to artistic performances from different cultures. Around 330 people from 70 countries are working on board, some of them are volunteers who spread volunteering values and help others through discussion panels about their experience in volunteering and support others during the ship rounds.

Logos Hope was built in 1973, it was operating as a car ferry. In 1983 it was sold to the Danish Faroes ferry company, it was transporting passengers and cargo in summer to Iceland and Norway. Then, it was sold to the German non- profitable “Good Books For All” company, which has many floating libraries around the world.

After UB Laky members visit to Logos Hope, a seminar on the stable psychiatric health for women has been organized. It was delivered by Dr. Karim Ragheb- a psychiatry specialist.

The seminar included four life skills to manage stress on women:

  • Alertness: training on essential skills acquirement, those which need good observation to surroundings whether in work, or in human relationships, and not to subjectively judge.
  • Limiting negative and destructive feelings.
  • Make sure to be in successful positive relationships circle.
  • Reducing aggressiveness and negative thinking.

Dr. Ragheb also demonstrated a number of advice for women, like: getting enough sleep and rest, having healthy diet, practicing sports regularly, good communication and smart education.

Ashraf El Kady- Chairman of The United Bank, pointed out that Egyptians civilization respects cultures diversifications. This was clearly noticed in the first three days of the boat mooring in Port Saied where 18 thousand of people visited Logos Hope. He added that it isn’t the first visit of the ship to Egypt. It had been here in 2010, and this indicates the importance of Egypt on cultural and tourism levels.

El Kady stated that social media channels played an essential role in promoting Logos Hope visit to Port Saied. Many websites broadcasted a life streaming to the ship. In addition to the personal impressions of the visitors. This created a cultural releasing and desire to visit the boat to acknowledge human, and cultural heritage through books and cultural performances.

El Kady stated that The United Bank since its establishment has an important message that aims to qualifying women and to culturally, socially, economically, and professionally empower them. This message comes from deep belief in the importance of the fundamental and different roles played by women. Woman is a strategic partner in the community development either on a professional level or family and human relationships level.
