Cairo: 30th of August, 2022

The United Bank announced the first electronic litigation transaction in the economic court. This match UB deep faith in the role of technology and its direct effect on the citizen socially and economically and health safety, by saving time, effort and reducing expenses. As well as, the full application of precautions to keep the public safe.

UB is the first bank in the Egyptian banking industry to adopt the electronic litigation system, starting with filing a case before court, paying fees through credit cards, to remotely attending court sessions, receiving all resolutions and court delays on e-mails, until obtaining the verdicts in those case, without the need to go to the economic court headquarter.

UB has praised this project through establishing a strong digital infrastructure, technological data base in the economic court, providing all needed equipment. Besides, setting up a website for the electronic litigation in the economic court and providing the court with high- speed internet.  As well as, a meticulous training process and qualifying the human resources (counselors, admins, system- registered lawyers) to lead the digital system. In order to achieve the best out of the electronic litigation system (remote litigation).

The United Bank expressed its thanks to Counselor Omar Marwan- Minister of Justice who supported the digital transformation in its phases overcoming barriers and Counselor Ahmed Khairy- Assistant Minister of Justice for specialized courts, who made a range of important application to guarantee the project’s success and sustainability end up with full adaptation.

UB leads to activate these procedures, by making a range of efforts on many stages:

The first stage:
UB registered in the electronic litigation system to be the first banks to register and apply the remote litigation in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The second Stage:

Activating the electronic signature. The authorized electronic signature has been extracted from the economic court. This is for all UB lawyers to sign on all documents and journals uploaded on the electronic litigation platform on and during the case procedures.

The third stage:

Initiating all proceedings remotely where the cases filed on the electronic litigation platform of the economic court. And by registering all litigants’ data, uploading all documents, and statement of claim after being signed by the authorized electronic signature.

The fourth stage:

Attending court hearings remotely, and that’s after establishing special rooms for electronic litigation, this stage comes into action with the continual cooperation between counselors, who are in charge of electronic litigation system activation. The electronic litigation has already been activated, beginning with attending court sessions before the preparatory and intermediation commission, to attend the court hearings and finally issuing provisions in those proceedings.
