The United Bank “Laky” forum for women organizes the first dual workshop with Baheya Foundation to spread health and banking awareness

The United Bank “Laky” forum under hashtag #a_safety_step, with the cooperation of Baheya foundation, organized the first dual workshop to spread breast cancer and banking awareness on the smartest saving instruments, in order to expand the financial inclusion base.

The event included a medical examination to members of Lacky forum for women.

The workshop was divided into two parts: the first part was about identifying the breast cancer, and the most prevalent types of cancers. It also discussed reasons of increasing numbers of getting cancers. As it has been reported that 2.2 million cases get cancers annually as per The United Nations report issued in 2020. The report related that increasing to the negative impacts of corona pandemic, climate changes, mal nutrition, and mal health care.

A medical team and the psychological support team have held awareness sessions to Lacky forum members and breast cancer fighters. The session included the different means of treatment and how to fight breast cancers. They have also demonstrated the reasons of this disease and different types of cancers that contracting women. As well as, the latest means of treatment and the importance of making regular early detection. And the importance of the psychological and awareness side provided by Baheya team from doctors, nursing team and volunteers.

The second part of the workshop was about smart saving mechanism.  It was given by the banking expert Dr. Emad Qattara who highlighted the most prominent saving tools provided by UB, certificates, conventional deposits, and compliant with sharia compliance.

As well as, demonstrating a package of micro finance, whether through UB digital wallet, or through UB 68 branches found all around the Republic. Besides, financing car converting into natural gas, for a clean environment free of carbon emissions. It has been also discussed the different kinds of cards, whether credit, such as: Rakhaa compliant with shariaa, pre-paid cards and Ajyal youth card.

The session also included the best means of keeping banking information safe, especially Baheya fighters and how to get them aware from cyber-crimes.

Commenting on this event, Dr. Gilan Ahmed - Executive Director of Baheya Foundation - confirmed the Foundation's keenness to encourage all entities that assume social responsibility, as The United Bank.  That is because of its effective and influential role in serving and supporting society in general, especially women, and supporting Baheya and her fighters in particular. Where she explained that The United Bank is an influential partner and supporter to Baheya, and that such cooperation has a fruitful role in completing Baheya's message to the fullest, and to always be in the back of every Egyptian woman.

 

And Dr. Emad Qattara expressed that banking awareness and spreading financial culture come within the strategic goals of the Academy, hence the cooperation with Baheya Foundation and The United Bank as one of the banking entities supporting the expansion of the base of financial inclusion in the market.

 

Ashraf Al Kady- president of The United Bank, stated that UB appreciates the important and vital role done by women in all life aspects, as a primary partner in the building march. Thus, the United Bank is keen to provide and grant all kinds of support to female leaderships Lacky forum members, in order to enhance their leadership skills and be weaponized with education and continual training.

He added that women have faced political, economic, social and health challenges. Women have passed through a lot of challenges and achieved success. And proved her eligibility of getting distinctive state internationally. Women empowerment is not any longer welfare, but it has become one of the pillars and sustainable development goals of The United Nations, that have been announced in 2017.

Al Kady said that women health is becoming on the top of the political leadership in Egypt and UB. He pointed out that UB has participated in the initiative of 100 million health, that was directed to examine the women- threatening diseases, that hinder their participation in building society.

Al Kady stated that UB is working within the sustainable development plans and programs aiming to empower women economically, socially and also on the professional level. As well as, activating her vital role as a fundamental partner in community development. That’s why these activities specialized for women have been carried on by the corporate communications sector, and Social Responsibility and sustainable development sector, in the framework of the annual plan to accomplish health welfare for women leadership, and bridging communications among Lacky forum members, to highlight the most important challenges faced by women.
