For the second time The International Information Consortium (IDC) awards The United Bank head of the information technology sector the Excellence Award in Digital Transformation

For the second time, and in the honor of his pioneering role in the field of banking and the digital transformation process, the IT Managers Summit, organized by the International Information Consortium (IDC) under the auspices of Dr. Omar Talaat - Minister of Communications and Information Technology, awards Ahmed Helmy - Head of the Information Technology Sector the Excellence Award in Egypt for his contributions in the field of information technology and the introduction of digital transformation initiatives at the United Bank.

 

Ahmed Helmy says that he is very proud of this honor, which came after an effort in the process of digital transformation at The United Bank and preparing the work environment to receive this type of technology, which has become a necessity in light of the competitive global banking performance as well as maximizing the return from the banking sector to serve the national economy.

 

Ahmed Helmy has a proven record in the field of information technology and digital technology applications in many banks in the Egyptian market, The National Bank of Kuwait - Société Générale Bank - MiBank - IBM, and a number of banks, which qualified him to take over the presidency of the information technology sector at the United Bank and develop strategies and operational plans and full supervision of the bank’s digital transformation process, which took about 3 years and is ongoing.

 

It started with the application of the latest version of the main banking systems from Finastra International, as well as the introduction of modern global applications in the field of banking transactions and cooperation with the various banking sector to implement many digital products and services at the United Bank. This is under the slogan "Your Bank Online", including: government payments, digital wallet, internet banking and mobile banking as well as working on the completion of the application of contactless cards and the advantage card.

The United Bank has won 5 international awards specialized in the field of digital transactions and solutions as follows:

• The Digital Excellence Award for the "Best Arab Financial Institutions" from The Union of Arab Banks, May 2021
• Excellence Award in Digital Transformation "The top 10 financial institutions - Egypt" from the major international institutions "IDC" in 2021
• "The Best Bank for Electronic Banking Channels 2020" award from the International Finance magazine.
• The United Bank also won " The Best Bank in Digital Financial Transactions" award for 2019 from the English International Finance magazine.
• It also received "Excellence Award for Arab Digital Banks 2018" from The Union of Arab Banks.
• It also ranked third in a regional survey on the best banks providing digital technology financial services and solutions in 2018, conducted by The Union of Arab Banks.
