The United Bank occupies the fourth place in the social responsibility activities among banks

The United Bank ranked the fourth place among banks operating in the market in the social responsibility and sustainable development activities. This came in the annual Business News El Borsa Index 2020 for social responsibility, which is based on measuring the extent of banking institutions commitment to community development services.
The United Bank ranked fourth place in terms of spending on social responsibility activities out of the bank’s total general income, as well as measuring the size of the institutional activities and national initiatives that The United Bank has participated in over the past years.
We are working in an institutional framework within The Central Bank system for sustainable community development.
Ashraf El Kady - Chairman of The United Bank – express his happiness that The United Bank has obtained this recognized rank among different banks. The strategy of The United Bank was based on an institutional framework to operate within The Central Bank of Egypt’s system for community development in the work of serving and improving the level of health, educational, cultural and social services for the community as a whole.
The central bank and banking system aims to deepen the developmental role of financial institutions in society.
This is through carrying out a series of social solidarity initiatives and providing a number of innovative solutions and mechanisms to eliminate many problems facing society as a whole including: poverty, hunger, health care, slums, and creating job opportunities to eliminate unemployment and community development. It also provides support and assistance to a number of civil institutions to fulfill their developmental role to the fullest, as well as supporting the Egyptian state in comprehensive and sustainable community development in accordance with Vision 2030.
The United Bank creates solutions, symbiotic mechanisms and development to alleviate economic and social difficulties.
Ashraf El-Kady indicated that The United Bank, through "Ethar" for community development department, took several initiatives to work in the field of social responsibility. “Ethar” Department for Community Development has undertaken a series of projects and strategic partnerships with major civil society institutions, chiefly: Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Tahya Misr Fund, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education and Technical Education, the Misr El-Kheir Foundation, the Egyptian Food Bank and the Good Makers Foundation.

Gihan Abu Hussein - Director General of Ethar Department for Community Development at The United Bank says that the “Ethar Community Development” department has taken an action plan during the first half of 2020 to cover 4 main areas, especially after the repercussions of the global crisis of the spread of the new Corona virus.
Encouraging applications of green economy solutions for sustainable community development.
We believe in the importance of the role of economic institutions in supporting researchers from the distinguished Egyptian youth to participate in international forums. Under the slogan "Get Green", The United Bank sponsored students of Cairo University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture, who won the first and the second prize in the International Innovative Urban Farming Competition (Urban Farm 2020), which was held in the final of the competition at the Novala Farm exhibition in Italy during the period. From February 19-20.
The United Bank also participated in the national "Nile Pioneers" initiative sponsored by the Central Bank of Egypt, which had great repercussions for The United Bank's adoption of 5 projects and ideas for young entrepreneurs and emerging companies in the field of developing livestock and dairy products.
Continuing taking care for the youth, The United Bank held the annual competition for the Holy Quran to select and honor the keepers of the Book of God through its branches throughout the Republic, The United Bank prepaid cards were presented to the winners to spread awareness and financial culture.
The United Bank, in cooperation with “Sonaa El Khir”  Good Makers Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, took the initiative of "Our Children in Our Eyes" to uncover the causes of blindness for children in private primary schools.
In the health field:
The United Bank conducted several awareness campaigns for the people of Saint Catherine and the neighboring valleys against breast cancer diseases and personal hygiene to prevent skin diseases and combat addiction in cooperation with the Good Makers Foundation and Baheya Hospital.
The United Bank team also donated four medical devices to St. Catherine's Hospital, an electrocardiogram, an oxygen generator device and three nebulizer devices, in addition to 100 Face Shield to ensure complete protection and protection for medical staff, nursing and injured.
In the field of community development
The United Bank, in cooperation with the Misr El-Kheir Foundation and “Sonaa El Khir”  Good Makers Foundation, supported the Upper Egypt region, specifically the villages of Al-Maabdah and Shaqalqil, in Assiut Governorate, also, Saint Catherine and neighboring valleys, to be able to face the severe winter cold through a campaign to distribute blankets.
After the spread of the new Corona virus, the United Bank Ethar Administration supported the areas of North and South Cairo, Saint Catherine District, Ras Sidr, Abu Zenima and Abu Redis in South Sinai by providing a bag of sterilization materials and health awareness.
This is in addition to contributing to the Egyptian Banks Union initiative in favor of Tahya Misr Fund in support of workers affected by the Corona virus. Also, supporting daily workers who were affected by the spread of the new Corona virus, through Tahya Misr Fund.
In the field of feeding
The United Bank, in cooperation with the Misr El-Kheir Foundation, carried out a feeding campaign during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 2020, whereby about 2000 packages of food stuff were distributed to cover the largest number of the poorest governorates in Upper Egypt and South Sinai Governorate, specifically the city of Saint Catherine and its valleys, the city of Al-Tur, and Central Sinai The valleys of Tarfa and Sheikh Awa, the villages of Al-Jiddi and Al-Kharrazin communities, Al-Askof, Al-Nusra, Abu Zaitouneh, Abu Madi, Al-Soud, Al-Ras Al-Asfar, Al-Sebaiah, Al-Sebaiah Alawi, Al-Marwah, Sheikh Mohsen, Ghariba, Sheikh your Awad Al-Adaba you, Awlad Hassabah, Umm your Hassa, your Tarfa, Umm Haraba, the gathering of peace, the apple, al-mulqa, al-Qweiz, al-hashaishah, al-Shamiyya, al-Rusais, Wadi Shareej, Abu Salih.
The villages of Upper Egypt governorates that were covered are Luxor, Qena, Esna, Al-Zaniya, Al-Karnak, Al-Shoghab, Abu Al-Joud, Al-Barakia, Al-Sammanin, and Al-Naqaba in addition to covering Al Shorouk and the 10th area.
The United Bank also provided support and assistance for the people of Saint Catherine in South Sinai affected by the floods by providing materials to make insulators to cover the roofs of houses affected by the floods.
