The United Bank launches the first workshop to develop its professional women's leadership skills

The United Bank launched the first specialized workshop for its female banking team aiming to develop professional women's leadership skills, last Saturday in Fayoum with the participation of 165 women leaders from 68 branches and 3 main centers of The United Bank spread all over the Republic.

 

Under the title "Women's Leadership = Healthy Nutrition X Exceptional Skills", Dr. Sherine Gaber - Consultant of Medical Analysis and Clinical Nutrition, Professor of Good Nutrition at The British University, founder of the first unit specialized in therapeutic nutrition at EgyptAir and health advisor at Westgate for Specialized Consultations, delivered the workshop.

 

The workshop included the positive impact of investing in women leaders and developing creative strategic thinking. This is done by proposing several axes, the most important of which are: The foundations of developing effective communication skills and improving women's abilities to remove obstacles and turn them into successes as well as the importance of making sound decisions and dealing with changes in addition to respecting the differences between cultures and environments and the importance of adhering to quality standards to reach the goals of institutions.

 

Dr. Sherine Gaber discussed the importance of proper nutrition as a basis for professional activity and one of the components of sound creative thought as well as its impact on the team's desire to complete the task which is reflected in the production capacity of the team in general and women in particular. In addition, Dr. Sherine Gaber deals with the types of nutritional supplements that are suitable for women at different stages of their life and how to maintain the ideal weight at all stages of life.

 

Leadership and intellectual creativity among women leaders

Commenting on the workshop, Ashraf El Kady - President of The United Bank - says that the representation of women cadres in leadership positions at various levels is the basis for success. Women represent 30% of The United Bank's work force, which is positively reflected on economic and social results of the institution.

 

El Kady added that UB's strategy revolved around developing and improving the performance of human competencies in general and women in particular, and qualifying them for leadership in a balanced manner and with equal opportunities. Women are a strategic partner in nation building.

 

Ashraf El Kady stressed the importance of identifying creative women cadres, accelerating the pace of their preparation, and encouraging them to learn, develop and lead. Investing in human energies, especially women, has a positive impact on the work environment as a catalyst for innovation.

 

He explained that The United Bank is keen to deepen the culture of teamwork as one of the most important keys to success. As the slogan of internal institutional communication is "One work team.... A promising future", which enhances the sense of loyalty and belonging to the institution. It contributes to raising productivity and ensuring the completion of tasks while providing exceptional and distinct opportunities for learning and development.

 

Omar Ashmawy, CEO of Westgate, which specializes in training and technical consultancy for human cadres, says that for the first time in the field of financial institutions, a full workshop is dedicated to women’s leadership in the field of health and spreading health and environmental awareness for women, as one of the basics of improving the productive efficiency of human elements, organized by the Value Company one of El-Araby group.
