The Minister of Social Solidarity awards The United Bank as a strategic success partner in the first Baheya’s forum

Dr. Nevine Kabbaj- Minister of Social Solidarity, on the behalf of Dr. Mostafa Matbouly- Prime Minister, has witnessed the ceremony of launching the first forum for success partners held by Baheya foundation for treatment of breast cancer, that forum includes institutions and individuals.

A part of the forum launching, The United Bank headed by Ashraf El Kady has been awarded for its strategic partnership with Baheya Foundation since its establishment. Dr. Nevine Kabbaj presented Baheya award shield to Gehane Abou Hussein- Head of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development, The United Bank. As an appreciation gesture to the supportive role conducted by UB and its CSR in all Egyptian governorates. With the presence of Dr. Maya Morsi- President of the National Counsel for Women, Tamer Shawky- Chairman of Baheya Foundation, Maged Hamdy- BOD of Baheya, and Dr. Hossam Moafy.

Dr. Nevine Kabbaj stated in her speech that the woman’s health is the cornerstone to family’s health and the whole nation wellness. She added that the political leadership has devoted special attention to woman’s health. Thus, many initiatives have been made by the state and the civil society. There is the Mr. President initiative dedicated to women’s health, under the name of “The Egyptian woman is Egypt’s Health”. Along with awareness campaigns for Virus C and diabetes, and campaigns for early detection and treatment.

Dr. Kabbaj has praised Baheya great efforts to treat breast cancers. Creating a supportive environment to breast cancer patients beginning with early detection stage, to treatment stage including all kinds of therapies, until recovery, rehab and continual support to keep healthy and merge with families. As well as, the foundation success on the professional level, as it copes with the latest technologies, researches and psychiatric health. This happened with the help of partnerships in all state’s institutions, economic institutions, companies and individuals to fight the disease.

Dr. Kabbaj expressed her pleasure to be along with these great cancer fighters, and those great medical team giving them health, psychiatric and social support, and success partner supporters.

Gehane Abou Hussein- Head of Ethar for Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development, has expressed her happiness of this award given to UB. Ethar Division spared no effort to make a successful partnership with Baheya Foundation, which is regarded as one of the most important civil society partnerships with UB. That aims to sustainable support and social support to cancer fighters and women at all.

Gehane Abou Hussein pointed that the partnership between UB and Baheya is a sustainable and developmental partnership, aiming to serve and support women health, in all Egyptian governorates and all age stages, and all treatment stages, beginning with early detection stage, passing through providing medications whether chemo therapy, or radiation therapy, or psychiatric therapy or rehab, all free of charges. Besides, UB efforts to reduce waiting lists through supporting more than 105 women. It is worth mentioning, that Ethar UB, has participated in many national initiatives and social development projects, national and non- governmental campaigns, that aim to achieving sustainable development targets, supporting the state efforts, and The Central Bank of Egypt towards improving the citizen’s life style, eliminating squatter housing and improving service quality especially in health and education.

Among the most important projects and initiatives done by Ethar UB are: eliminating squatter housing “Hay el Asmarat”, the national initiative 100 million health, the national campaign to reduce waiting lists, “Awladna Fe Einayna” initiative that aims to eliminate blindness causes and anemia in primary schools. Sacrificing Saqq project, and changing the mindset of performing religious rituals to deliver meats of sacrifices to the poor in a civilized manner, UB organizes the annual Holy Quran competition. In addition to, the sustainable development project in Saint Catherin, South Sinai. And also, the project of eliminating women borrower prisoners, that aims to solving social and economic problems, and empower women.
