The United Bank Sponsors the Annual Forum for Heads of Internal Audit in Banks – 5th Edition

The United Bank announced its sponsorship of the Annual Forum for Heads of Internal Audit in Banks, organized by the Union of Arab Banks (UAB). The forum is being held in Cairo under the title: "Towards an Integrated Model for Governance, Risk Management, and Innovation." This sponsorship comes as part of the bank's efforts to promote a culture of transparency and sound governance practices within the banking sector.
The forum witnessed broad participation from bank leaders, auditing experts, and risk management specialists from both within and outside Egypt. Discussions covered numerous topics coinciding with digital transformation mechanisms, the challenges of cybersecurity, supply chains, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, as well as adherence to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards and ethical practices in institutional work.
The Annual Forum aims to discuss best international practices in internal auditing, control, and compliance, and to enhance the capacity of banking institutions to predict and effectively manage risks in a changing and complex environment. This includes employing AI and Machine Learning (ML) mechanisms in audit tasks and building a flexible and sustainable auditing culture. Furthermore, it discussed the pillars of governance, legislation, and professional ethics, such as behavioral risks, customer fairness, and the quality of auditing on ESG and sustainability.
In a statement issued by The United Bank, it was emphasized that the rapid and successive development in AI tools and digital transformation mechanisms obligates banks, especially internal audit departments, to adopt a proactive approach based on intelligent data analysis, risk monitoring, and prediction. This enhances transparency and strengthens customer confidence in the entire banking system.
