The United Bank Showcases its Pioneering Experience in e-Litigation at the Forum for Successful Administrative Experiences and Practices
Cairo: June 25, 2025
Yesterday, The United Bank participated in the Forum for Successful Administrative Experiences and Practices, held in Cairo under the title "Artificial Intelligence Applications in Government Institutions." The event was organized by the Arab Organization for Administrative Development and sponsored by the Ministry of Communications.
The forum aims to exchange knowledge and expertise on leveraging artificial intelligence applications to enhance the efficiency of government work and improve transparency and governance, all within the framework of Egypt's Digital Strategy.
During the second session, titled "How Digital Transformation Reshaped the e-Litigation System within The United Bank's Legal Sector," Mohamed Mamdouh, Senior Lawyer and Head of e-Litigation Management, reviewed UB's experience since 2022. The bank adopted the e-litigation system, becoming the first bank to fully activate the e-litigation system for judicial procedures before economic courts.
The experience included a comprehensive presentation of all stages of digital judicial procedures within UB, starting from filing an electronic lawsuit, paying fees with credit cards, attending remote sessions via video conferencing, uploading documents, presenting defense, and receiving judgments electronically, all without the need to physically attend the court.
Mohamed Mamdouh identified 13 key advantages of the judicial digital transformation process within The United Bank: simplifying procedures, reducing congestion, lowering costs, greater transparency, improving archiving, flexibility for lawyers and operational plans, and enhancing judicial governance.
Commenting on The United Bank's participation, Ashraf El Kady, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, The United Bank, stated that "UB's pioneering experience embodies an advanced model in combining digital technology and justice, position it at the forefront of banking institutions leading the digital transformation process in Egypt. This contributes to establishing smart justice, enhancing the efficiency of e-litigation, and boosting confidence in the Egyptian judicial and economic environment."
He added that Egypt's economic courts have witnessed a qualitative leap since the launch of the digital transformation project, which has reshaped the features of judicial work by integrating technology into the core of litigation services, thereby enhancing justice and transparency and aligning with Egypt's Vision 2030.
El Kady emphasized the importance of integrating technology into state judicial and administrative bodies to ensure transparency and effective governance. He stressed the importance of developing a strong digital infrastructure and establishing a legal and ethical framework for the use of artificial intelligence within judicial and administrative work systems.
