Ashraf El Kady, President of The United Bank, stated that digital transformation is driving electronic payment programs towards sustainable annual growth, which supports the investment environment and aligns with Egypt's Vision 2030.
El Kady referred to the Egyptian Ministry of Finance report issued in June 2024, which documents the most important figures and indicators for the sustainable growth of tax and customs revenue collections.

The report highlighted that the value of electronic payment and collection services reached 2.5 trillion Egyptian pounds in just 11 months. The value of electronic tax collection transactions amounted to 613 billion pounds, an increase of 16%. Additionally, electronic customs collections grew by 38%, equivalent to 284 billion pounds.
Ashraf El Kady explained that Egyptian banks, under the leadership of The Central Bank of Egypt and in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Finance, provide electronic payment services for taxes and customs through electronic applications that operate 24/7. This aims to facilitate the process for investors and financiers to fulfil their government obligations, reduce the volume of paper transactions, which contributes to improving the efficiency and transparency of financial transactions, as well as reducing the time and effort spent and enhancing the accuracy and speed of transactions, thereby contributing to supporting opportunities for attracting new investments.
