Asdaa Association teams won the first and the second places in the International Olympics Competition for Robots for sustainable development

Under the slogan of “Nature Allies.. in Robot World”, the Robotics International Olympics Competition announced Asdaa Association for hearing disabilities, located in Alexandria, as the first and second places winners. That was in the framework of the Innovation Contest held in New Giza University, with the regional partner from Center Ideas Gym. It also revealed them as candidates to represent Egypt internationally in the final International Robotics Competition in Turkey.
The competition results revealed Asdaa Association winner with the first place in the project of sustainable agriculture and the second place in the project of using robots to grow mushrooms. The two projects are recognized as an innovative perspective of using robots as nature allies. Moreover, the smart flood city got the shield of “Knight for Robot” in the competition as an appreciation of its importance.
Asdaa participated with three projects:
The first project: specialized in the sustainable farming, fertilized irrigation. Its members: Fatma, Misk, and Yasmine for junior stage along with their trainer Nader Sherif. The project demonstrates the innovation of using the grey water after recycling to irrigate green cities and fertilizing their green surfaces, wooden trees, irrigating cotton and linen. As they are considered to be usable materials.
The second project: assigned to operate and use robots in mushroom farming, harvesting, and packaging. As well as, controlling the temperature and humidity in order to be suitable for growth. Its members: Mariam, Belal, and Jana for the Elementary stage with their trainer Nader Sherif. The project aimed the sustainable farming and providing food security consistently.
The third project: with the name of Smart Flood Cities, its members: Shahd, Zyad and Shahd for the Senior Stage with their trainer Ahmed Hossam. The Project aimed to help the flood- prone cities to use the floodwater and relieving the damages resulted from it.
The Judgement Panel of the International Olympics for Robotics Competition has expressed their excitement with the presented projects. Those great kids have been able to break the boundaries of silence, challenged their disabilities, and impressed all with their capability to achieve such an achievement on a national level.
Samy Saied- named Deaf Lover, and the founder of Asdaa Association, expressed his happiness with the winning of the three teams with those distinctive awards. He added that he is looking forward to put those students in the place they deserve in the information technology, programming and artificial intelligence centers. As they enjoy great capabilities that enabled them to overcome their hearing disability. They deserve all respect and appreciation from all authorized entities.
Gehane Abou Hussein- Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, The United Bank, expressed her appreciation for the impressive accomplishment done by the three teams, they are innovative and always assuring that they should be seen as creative minds regardless of their hearing disabilities. Despite their disabilities, they showed the world how creative and smart they are.
Ashraf El Kady- Chief Executive Officer, The United Bank demanded paying more attention for the deaf community. He added that specialized academies should invest in those kids in fields of robotics, artificial intelligence, and programming.
Although they live in a silent world, but with this high level of performance, they should find their way among the community. They should feel the value of their innovation and accomplishment. Their capabilities is reassuring they will have an important role in the community alongside with the rest. We are all proud sons and daughters of this nation.
