The United Bank is to lead the corporate social responsibility index

The United Bank is leading the annual Business News Index for 2024 in the corporate social responsibility and compliance in working within the framework of sustainable development goals and societal support. That is in terms of annual spending rate on development works out of the total UB revenues.

The business news index is based on measuring the banking institutions’ commitment to the societal development services. As well as, the volume of corporate activities and national initiatives that UB has participated in through the last couple of years, which aim to improving the lifestyle, accomplishing transparency, and enhancing societal partnerships. 

Ashraf El Kady- Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, The United Bank commenting on this accomplishment, he expressed his happiness with UB getting into the top of the annual index. That reflects how UB is devoted to the goals of sustainable development and societal support.

He added that UB strategy is based on a corporate framework, that works according to the system of The Central Bank of Egypt for corporate responsibility in the enhancing the level of educational, health, societal and cultural services. Besides, finding solutions for many problems like poverty, starvation, health care and random housing. In addition to working to create job opportunities to eliminate unemployment, and support the Egyptian state in the integrated societal development as per 2030 vision.

El Kady pointed out that Ethar, UB Corporate Social Responsibility department has adopted many axis in social work.  In addition to the strategic partnerships with large civil community institutions.

Gehane Abou Hussein- UB Head of CSR, stated that UB set a work agenda that targets to cover four basic fields: health, education, feeding, and societal development. Aiming to achieving a sustainable positive impact that serve the citizen and the society as whole. 

On the level of technological development, UB achieves the sixth place according to Business news index 2024. In addition to the fourth place in terms of number of digital services- clients. Plus, the third place in terms of the number of ATMs.
