    Saving accounts:
    C) shariaa compatible:
    - Customers are allowed to withdraw and deposit, with complete freedom, with a calculated varying return on the lowest balance available during the month.
    - The return is credited every 3 months.
    - Check book issuance is not allowed.

    D) Commercial:
    - Customers are allowed to withdraw and deposit, with complete freedom, with a calculated fixed return on the lowest balance available during the month.
    - The return is credited every 3 months.
    - Check book issuance is not allowed.

    Current accounts:
    - This account can be opened for individuals and companies.
    - It has no return.
    - Issuance of a check book is allowed for the customers .

    Foreign Currency accounts:
    - We serve foreign currency accounts which are USD, EUR and GBP currencies in addition to any other foreign currencies according to the Dealing room instructions.
    - The minimum amount for opening any account is 500 $ or what is equivalent in other currencies.

What are the main features for each card?

  1. Credit cards

Rakaa Credit Card:

The First Credit card that is compatible to shariaa compliance in cooperation with Master Card.

  • Available in Classic and Gold.
  • Least Murabha return, with equal installments, up to 20 month.
  • Longest grace period up to 58 days.
  • The customer can apply for supplementary cards.
  • The card is available for usage online and abroad.
  • Allows 100% withdrawal and 100% purchases.

Visa Credit Card
Enjoy the United Bank Visa Credit Card with:
- No fees on purchases and low withdrawal fees.
- The monthly minimum payment is 5% out of last statement balance.
- Grace period up to 55 days on purchases and cash withdrawal.
-The customer can apply for supplementary cards.
-The card is available for usage online and aboard.
- Allows 100% withdrawal and 100% purchases.

Debit cards

Visa Electron/ Master Card:
You can use your account safely around the world in cash withdrawals and purchases, at any time through debit card (Visa Electron and Master Card).

Pre-paid cards:
Allow their holders to carry out different purchases and cash withdrawal transactions, inside and outside Egypt, with the possibility of recharging the card more than once through different UB branches and ATM’s covering all governorates.

It’s not a must to be UB customer to get the prepaid card.

What are the types of Deposits and Certificates united bank offers?

Certificates:
United bank offers the Islamic and commercial certificates.
The shariaa compatible certificates:
The three years certificates with monthly variable return:
- It is Available in EGP, and pays monthly.
- Its categories start from 1000 L.E.

The three year certificates with cumulative variable return:
- It is Available in EGP and pays at the end of the period.
- Its categories start from 1000 L.E.

The five years certificates with semi -annual variable return:
- It is Available in EGP, and pays semi – annually.
- It’s categories start from 1000 L.E.

The annual certificates in USD with quarter variable return:
- It is denominated In USD, and pays every three months.
- Its categories start from 100$.

The Commercial certificates:
Golden certificate “the three year certificates with cumulative return”:
- It’s denominated in EGP, and pays at the end of the period.
- Its categories start from 1000 L.E.

Diamond certificates “the three certificates with three monthly return”:
- It is denominated in EGP, and pays every three months.
- Its categories start from 500 L.E.

The five years certificates with monthly return:
- It is denominated in EGP, and pays monthly variable.
- It’s categories start from 750 L.E.

The USD certificates with quarter return: ( 3 Years )
- It is denominated in USD, and pays every three months.
- It’s categories start from 500 $.

The Millionaire certificate:
- It is a five year certificate starts from the purchasing date.
- The certificate value is 100 EGP.
- The millionaire certificate is renewed automatically.
- The millionaire certificate is issued without any extra charges.
- Both Egyptians and foreigners can buy it (only individual).
- The certificate prize (32 winner/year)
- 2 winners with the Million prize on per year.
- 3 winners monthly prize,
• 100 thousand EGP.

- The withdrawal is supervised by the ministry of social affairs – license No 19 of 2001 and its amendments.

We can serve the commercial deposits with minimum amount EGP 5000.

shariaa compatible deposits:
Clients can choose to have one of our fixed period shariaa compatible deposits :

IBAN QUESTIONS and ANSWERS:-

WHAT IS IBAN?

IBAN stands for the “International Bank Account Number”. It's a bank account number that is recognized by banks and other financial institutions around the world. You will need to use an IBAN when you make or receive local and international transfers,

It's a standardized way of identifying a bank account, which reduces errors and delays in sending international payments.

 

Why using IBAN?

IBAN is an internationally accepted, reliable and accurate account number that facilitates fund transfer with less cost and errors.

When will IBAN be Effective on my account?

IBAN number (29 Digits) will be effective 30 June 2020.

 How and where can I find my IBAN number?

You can find out your IBAN by visiting your nearest UB branch, for more info, Call 19200.

If you are registered to UB Online Banking, you can find your IBAN through Online Banking/Mobilebanking by effective 30 June 2020.

Additionally, the IBAN will be listed on your printed Bank Account statements.

 

 

 

 

When will this affecting my account?

Effective 30 June 2020, all local and international transfers from or to your account will require an IBAN in order to be processed.

Will my existing account number be invalid? 

Your existing account number remains valid without any changes. IBAN is a different electronic format of your account number that will be used only if you are making or receiving any local or international transfers.

What is IBAN format?

International Bank Account Number (IBAN) is a standard account number used to expedite automatic processing of money transfers worldwide and used now by 96 countries.

EGYPT Structure is 29 Digits.

IBAN Formula as per CBE instructions:-

  1. Country code à 2 Letters
  2. Check Digits à 2 Numbers
  3. Bank code à Number of Characters Varies.
  4. Branch code
  5. Bank Account Number à 13 Number

The basic bank account number varies in length depending on the country it comes from. 

 

What will happen to my transfers after June 2020? 

Effective 30 June 2020, all inward or outward local and international transfers will require an IBAN.

Using both account numbers and IBAN will continue to be accepted & processed until the Central Bank of Egypt’s full launch of the IBAN across the country, after which no transfers will be accepted without using the IBAN. Further communication will be shared with your good selves.

A free mobile application through which cash transactions can be carried out via the Internet such as (mobile phone charging - paying mobile and landline phone bills - paying car fines - renewing the car license - transferring money - donations - booking travel tickets....).

It is available to customers and non-customers of The United Bank.

The digital wallet can be used as follow:

1) Check Balance: It is possible to know the balance of the wallet, which is used to conduct cash transactions.

2) Wallet charging service: The digital wallet can be charged by deduction from the bank account, credit cards, prepaid cards, or through the National Mezza Card (for The United Bank customers only), or through all Fawry outlets or through The United Bank ATMs or Any of the machines that have "Mezza" logo.

3) Money transfer service: The customer can transfer from the United Bank wallet to another United Bank wallet or any other wallet inside Egypt.

4) Cash Withdrawal: Funds can be withdrawn from the digital wallet through all Fawry outlets or through The United Bank ATMs or any of the machines bearing the "Meeza" logo.

5) The service of paying the value of purchases through stores by scanning (QR Code):- Payment by receiving a collection request, where the merchant sends the payment request directly to the buyer on the digital wallet.Online purchase: Customers can scan the QR code to pay directly on the payment page on the websites or enter the mobile phone number to receive the “Payment Request” with the payment details of the digital wallet to confirm the payment process.

6) Transaction history service: It is possible to follow up and know all the transactions made through the wallet and their details.

7) Fawry services, which include the following: 

• Phone services: charging and paying bills (Vodafone - Orange - Telecom Egypt - TI Data - Etisalat - Orange DSL). 

• Government utility services: paying utility bills (electricity - water - natural gas). 

• Donation services: Donations to various charities (Resala Association - Misr El Kheir - Hospital 57357 - Food Bank - etc...). 

• Insurance services: Payment of premiums or payments of various insurance companies: (Allianz - Misr Life Insurance - ACE Insurance - Egyptian Engineering Syndicate - etc...). 

• Flight reservation services: booking tickets for flights outside and inside Egypt through (Egypt Air - Air Arabia - Air Cairo - Go Bus - etc...). Electronic payments: reimbursement of university fees, sports clubs, transportation companies ... (Cairo University - Shooting Club - Cinema - Karim and Uber for transportation - OLX - etc...).

• Car license renewal service and fines payment.• Pay all dues to Value and B-Tech.

Convenience and flexibility:

§ Follow up the balances of your digital wallet and the transactions you made previously.

§ The application is available in English and Arabic.

The service is available to the bank's customers and non-customers.

  • You must have an Egyptian mobile number registered with your name, and not subscribed by the same mobile phone number in any other electronic wallet (another bank or a telecom company).
  • A valid national ID card
  • You can have a maximum of 3 electronic wallets on the same national card number with different mobile phone numbers.
  • You must be Egyptian.

• Go to the nearest branch to complete the application form for subscription to the service.

• A short text message is sent to you from The United Bank; To notify you of both the link and the number to activate the service

• Download the UB Digital Wallet app from Google Play or the App Store.

  • Download the digital wallet application through (AppGallery - Google Play - Apple store).
  • Access to the application of the United Bank digital wallet.
  • Click on Sign Up.
  • Enter the mobile phone number to be registered into the digital wallet.
  • An activation code will be sent by SMS to the mobile phone number to be registered in the digital wallet·       
  • In case the mobile phone number is already registered, a message will appear indicating that the number is registered in the database·       
  • If the mobile phone number has not been registered before, the activation code will reach to be entered into the digital wallet application
  • The customer's data is written (customer's name - ID number).
  • The card data is written, whether it is (credit card - prepaid card - debit card (which accepts online transactions).The card information is written in full.
  • An OTP will be sent with the changed password to verify the ownership of the card data.
  • A password is created for the digital wallet.
  • If the request is accepted, the digital wallet application will be logged out, and then logged in with new password to enjoy the service.
  • If the application login is rejected, a message will appear stating the reason for rejection. 

No, each mobile number can only register in one wallet (either a wallet in a bank or through any other company).

Yes, using the same National ID Card you can register up to 3 wallets on 3 different mobile numbers.

  • Maximum wallet balance EGP 30,000.
  • Monthly transactions 100,000 EGP.
  • Daily Transactions 30,000 EGP.
  • The maximum number of daily transactions is 20.
  • The maximum number of monthly transactions is 600.

First you need to charge the balance of the electronic wallet from your card in the bank or deposit money in your wallet through the machines.

ATMs that have Meeza logo or any of the “Fawry” service providers spread throughout the Republic.

  • Deduction from the bank account.

  • Enter the password for the M-Pin wallet.
  • Deposit the amount in the deposit unit.

  • Log in to the digital wallet app, and choose ATM Cash Out.
  • Write the amount to be withdrawn from the wallet.
  • Write the wallet password and the system will automatically show the changed (OTP) security code.
  • Then through the ATM, choose cash services without a card.
  • Choose E-wallet services.
  • Choose a cash withdrawal.
  • Enter the mobile number of the digital wallet.
  • Enter the variable security code (OTP) issued by the digital wallet.
  • Enter the amount to be withdrawn from the ATM.
  • Go to the nearest merchant to request a deposit service to the digital wallet.
  • Choose a banking and financial transaction service from the Fawry machine.
  • Choose the United Bank wallet from the Fawry machine.
  • The merchant chooses Agent Cash In.
  • Log in to the digital wallet app, choose Agent Cash in and the system will show a security code (OTP) automatically.
  • Show the security code to the merchant; To confirm the deposit process, indicating the amount to be deposited in the wallet.
  • Go to the nearest merchant to request a cash withdrawal service from the digital wallet.
  • Log into the digital wallet app, and choose Cash Out.
  • Enter the merchant account number, and confirm it.
  • Enter the amount to be withdrawn.
  • Choose Confirm, and withdraw the transferred amount from the merchant after confirming the transfer.
  • Going to the nearest merchant that supports the QR service or through websites that support payment through digital wallets (or through Meeza).
  • Choose the Purchasing service through the Wallet application.
  • Then choose to scan the merchant's QR code through the wallet application.
  • After scanning the QR code, the purchase invoice details will appear on the wallet application.
  • Confirm the purchase invoice details, then press Confirm to pay the invoice amount by deducting the wallet balance.Payment steps by receiving an R2P payment request -Request to Pay.
  • Going to the nearest merchant that supports the payment service by receiving an R2P payment request, or through websites that support payment through digital wallets (or through Meeza).
  • Where the merchant sends the payment request directly to the customer on the digital wallet by indicating the wallet number to the merchant.
  • The customer will receive the payment request through the wallet through the wallet alerts service.
  • Click on the request sent by the merchant to confirm the details of the payment process.
  • Click on Confirm to pay the amount to be paid by deducting the wallet balance.

           

  • Choose "Send Amount" from the main page
  • Enter the phone number of the transfer recipient or you can add it from your phone book (the transfer recipient must be either a wallet holder)With a bank or with a mobile phone company 
  • Enter the amount to be transferred in Egyptian pounds
  • The transfer you made will be immediately received on the beneficiary's wallet
  • You have the possibility to confirm the transfer by text message to the beneficiary

Click on the “Fawry Services” icon from the main page, then click on the “Public Utilities” icon.

Select the utility company for your unit.

Enter payment details (subscriber number or reference number mentioned on your utility bill)·

Invoice data will be displayed with cost to confirm payment·

The reference number is mentioned on your bill, and it consists of the governorate number, the region, the daily, the sector, the block, the building, the apartment and the sub-number. You can also enter the meter reading through the application)

  • Click on the “Fawry Services” icon from the main page, then click on the “Donations” icon.
  • Select the organization you want to donate
  • You will be asked to enter the mobile number or you can add it from your phone (your phone number is not necessary)
  • Select the amount you want to donate.
  • Service data will be displayed with the service cost to confirm the payment process
  • Download the app on the new device
  • Enter your username and password
  • You will immediately receive the new activation code in a text message to the number registered with the bank, enter it in the required field in Application
  • Thus, the wallet will be used normally with the same old data as your balance and M-Pin
  • After entering the application with the current password, choose “Change M-Pin” from the settings on the left side of the menu

Subscribing to the Internet banking service through the self-registration feature:


•    Accessing the United Bank's website.
•    Choose the Internet banking service for individuals.
•    New User is pressed.
•    The language in which the procedures are to be completed is selected.
•    Read and agree to the terms and conditions.
•    Write the account number consisting of 6 digits, then press Next.
•    (In case of pre-registration, the following message “the customer number is already registered in the BankNet system” will be shown).
•    In case of completion, enter the ID number / date of birth / mobile phone number,
•    "Where they are validated by the basic database."
•    An activation code will be sent by SMS to the mobile phone number registered in the database.
•    A user name that has not been registered before is chosen.
•    Choose the channels to be subscribed to (mobile banking - alerts - voice service).
•    Write the security and privacy question and then put the answer to the question.
•    (They are used in case of losing the password and resetting a new password).
•    Create a strong, complex password:
•    Consists of at least 8 characters.
•    Contains uppercase and lowercase letters such as "ABC" and "abc".
•    Contains special characters like @ # $% ^ &.
•    Contains numbers such as 123456789.

Subscribing to the internet banking service through the branches:


•    Go to the nearest branch of the United Bank.
•    Fill out the subscription form for the Internet banking service, clarifying the channels to be subscribed to.
•    The username will be sent to the email registered in the database.
•    The password will be sent by SMS to the mobile phone number registered in the database.
•    Once the user name and password are received, the call center 19200 is contacted to activate the service.
•    Then the online banking login is done with the user name and password and a new password is created.


It is an additional level of security for your transactions with the One Time Token (OTP) you will be able to secure your accounts because the token allows you to make between account transfers and outgoing transfers.

•    Download the application from (AppGallery / Apple Store / Google Play).
•    After downloading the application, please click on Settings.
•    Press to show the phone identification number from the application (Device ID).
•    Login to the banking website, then click on Requests.
•    Click on a security code request from the list (Token Request).
•    Enter the national card number and the phone identification number (Device ID) on the internet banking, then press accept.
•    An e-mail will be sent with a link to define the system.
•    Click on the link to activate the variable password system.
•    Enter the password consisting of 8 numbers, letters and symbols.

•    Open the application on your mobile phone
•    Click on the option OTP
•    Enter the password in writing or by fingerprint
•    The application will show the OTP to use
•    The one-time password must be entered in the specified place on the internet banking page in order to enter or in the case of confirmation for some internet banking transactions

•    Entering the national card number and phone identification number (Device ID) on the banking Internet.
•    Press to accept.
•    An e-mail will be sent with a link to define the system.

The customer can know the credit limit of his card through customer service  or through the call center immediately after the card is issued

Yes, it is possible to determine a separate credit limit for the supplementary card as per customer request but will not exceed the primary card ,the total limits granted to the primary card and the supplementary card will be the total credit approval grants

•The customer can settle his credit card by visiting any of the bank’s branches or by using United Bank ATM's.
• The Customer can settle his credit card by leaving outstanding orders with a minimum of 5% or in full payment 100% deduction from the account that is determined by the customer.
• The Customer can settle his credit card through the Online Banking.

• The customer does not pay the minimum amount on time, the card is reactivated immediately after the customer pays the due amounts .
• Use his card in transactions not matched with the card nature.
• Make more deposits than the required due amount in order to increase the credit card limit which is against the bank’s rules.

The expiration date is printed on the card and the renewal of the exixting card take place before the expiration date by sufficient period to be delivered before the expiration date.

In case the customer lost his password, the customer can contact the call center and a new temporary PIN (OTAC) will be sent valid for 48 hours.

The customer will use it on any of the bank's ATM machines to create his new PIN.

1- Cash Back System applies on purchases transactions (Not applied on withdrwal transactions).
2- Cashback is applied on all types of credit cards, whether basic or supplementary.
3- A point is calculated for every 2 EGP of purchases.
4- The minimum points to be redeemed is 3000 points.
5- Every 3000 points is redeemed with 50 L.E cash back.
6- The points redeemed are added to the customer's credit card account.

The prepaid card in foreign currency can be used inside Egypt in Egyptian pound only, the transaction value deducted with the equivalent according to the exchange rate on the prepaid card account.

The internet card can be used inside Egypt for cash withdrawals and purchases by Egyptian pound.

The bank is not responsible for managing the currency of the customer, only the customer is responsible for managing the amounts for its use that  will deposit on the card from its own resources, whether from his personal account in the bank in foreign currency or in cash, and the branch is responsible to determine the sources of those currencies.

The full balance can be used for purchases or for cash withdrawals, but do not exceed the daily or monthly usage limit.

The standing order for credit card can be changed through the call center 19200 or visit the nearest branch of UB whether to settle the minimum payment or the full balance.

The service is available for the credit card and the amount will be deducted from the UB credit card and you can request for the service through the call center 19200 or visit the nearest branch of UB.

The OTP service is available and while using the internet you will receive SMS with the OTP code to complete the transaction.

The customer can request to add more than one remittance during the month but not exceed the card monthly limit, the customer can request for the service from the call center or visit the nearest branches for UB.
