1.Treasury Bills
These are short-term debt instruments issued by the CBE (The Central Bank of Egypt) on behalf of the Ministry of Finance. T-bills are issued in the primary market on a weekly basis with maturities of 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. Minimum amount of EGP 25,000 and its multiplies.
2. Treasury Bonds
These are medium to long-term debt instruments issued by the CBE (central Bank of Egypt) on behalf of the Ministry of Finance. T-bonds are issued in the primary market periodically with maturities of 3, 5, 7 and 10 years. Minimum amount of EGP 1,000 and its multiplies.
There is a secondary market activity that takes place every day for buying and selling these governmental debt securities to invest in these instruments or generate liquidity from these instruments.
